I've published three books (and one translation), starting back in 1987 with a little helper book called HyperTalk and the External Commands. That book turned out to be an amazingly hot seller, and got me started on the book writing thing.
Next up came Lotus Notes 3 Revealed!, published by Prima Books in 1994. This book merged management and technology and was the very first management book on Lotus Notes. It was through this book that I got into the journal publishing business and that, eventually, led to ZATZ.
After Lotus Notes 3 Revealed!, I wanted to do a pure management book. We'd just come through a battering recession and there were a lot of things we'd learned about business change. The Flexible Enterprise, published by venerable publisher John Wiley & Sons in 1996, turned out to be a very powerful book about not only business change, but change in general. It's also a great Management 101 for business owners, and was a lot of fun to write!
Sometime after the publication of The Flexible Enterprise, John Wiley was approached by Editora Rocco Ltda. They wanted to translate The Flexible Enterprise into Portugese, primarily for the Brazilian market. So, in 1997, A Empressa Flexivel was published. My understanding is that it became quite popular down there.
Much of my time since the publication of these books has been taken up by the publishing of our magazines and all the articles for them. But I've also been working on two books, one about a new way to motivate many different types of people, and the other is a fun novel. Someday soon, they may be coming to a bookstore near you!
